AND MILES ATE HIM!!!! I'm totally dying right now, it's so gross! Of all the bugs in Texas, this June bug is only second to the water roach in freaking me out. When I saw that Miles had put a dead one in his mouth, I called Jerry in a panic. He suggested I put a rubber glove on and fish it out. I couldn't do it, so I tried to get Darren and Claire to do it. They were too grossed out, also. By the time I worked up the courage, all that was left was half a wing and half a shell. And Miles cried and cried when I scraped them out. Darren and Claire went off in search for more bugs.

We have seen those bugs around the house too. Always dead. What is the deal, they expend all their energy getting in the door and then die so that your kids can have a little extra protein with breakfast? Whatever. Just think of it this way, in some countries what he ate would have been a delicacy. He's gonna be great on Fear Factor. . .
I'm with you I don't think I could have fished it out either. I make Chad do all the stuff I don't want to. Luckily it is just that, some good old down to earth protein.
YUCK!!!! I hate all the bugs in Texas. I had a hard time at first living in Waco just 'cause of the bugs and spiders. Now my fears are minial. I think it is funny that you tried to get Darren and Claire to fish out the June bug....life is never boring!

My cousin only ate June Bugs for almost a whole year. My aunt took her to every specialist on the planet. She grew out of it and is a perfectly normal young adult. Miles will be fine, he might develop a taste for them though.
