Party Sheets

Last time we visited Grandma and Grandpa we forgot to bring pull ups for the kids. We didn't want to take any chances in Paul's bed, so my mom put trash bags underneath the sheets. Darren and Claire called them party sheets because they made really cool sounds.

Strong Fingers

Did you know that playing video games is actually very good exercise - for your hands and fingers?!!!! (According to Darren) So go ahead and let your kids play their games all day long!

Ants and Leftovers

At school on Friday, Darren brought the ceramic turtle that we keep in our flowers for show and tell. We rinsed it off before, but when he pulled it out of his bag, ants came crawling out of the inside of the turtle. As you can imagine, this sent all of the kids into a huge uproar as they tried to smash all of them.

Then at snack time, Darren found a bologna sandwich in his backpack from the day before, and even though he told his teachers that "we always have to save our leftover sandwiches and eat them later," they didn't let him eat it (imagine that!!!)

You can call us . . .

Tiffany's college roommate, Joi, stayed with us the night before her surprise party. Joi asked Darren if he knew what his dad's name was. Darren said, "His name is Jerry, but my mom calls him Honey. So you can call him Honey, too, if you want."

Last night we were dropping off our kids at kids club and we were right in front of the Sheppard's. Their son, Gavin, saw our van and said, "Oh, look! It's the Michalann's!"

We Survived Feburary!

February was probably the busiest month we've had in a long time! I completely overbooked. Between keeping the house clean and laying on the couch to rest my back, I didn't have time to blog, but here is a quick recap of what we did:

1. Kid's Club
2. Book Club
3. Jerry started working at Lockheed Martin again
4. A surprise 30th birthday party for Tiffany (click here for more pictures)
5. Lots of visits to the chiropractor after hurting my back the day before the surprise party (the timing couldn't have been worse!!!)
6. An awesome couple's massage with Jerry to celebrate Valentine's Day (I LOVE HIM!!!)
7. Added a new member to the family: Darren's beta fish, Jack, which he got for his birthday
8. A Star Wars party for Darren's 6th Birthday, with 10 wild boys
9. Several get-togethers for the Young Men at our house
10. We ended the month by running/walking in the Cowtown 5K with some other friends, then hosted a brunch after. Click here for a picture.

Kid Update:
1. Darren is reading!!! He is picking up new words more and more quickly, and it is exciting for all of us!
2. Claire has decided that she loves Barbies and wants to play Barbies with me everyday.
3. Miles is into everything!!! He loves to play outside and is not afraid to go down the tallest slides by himself.
4. Just 10 more weeks until our baby girl is born - even though Darren and Claire have been telling everyone that they want to name her Sophia, we haven't decided on a name yet.
